FLANDREAU---Pat Stacklin, general manager of Dakota Layers, LLP, a shell egg farm located in northern Moody County, South Dakota, announced his resignation Thursday, August 25th, 2011.  Mr. Stacklin indicated he was taking a position in Ohio which will allow him and his family to be close to family and stay in the poultry business.  Stacklin is a native of Ohio and a graduate of The Ohio State University.

“I have appreciated the opportunity to serve the owners and management of Dakota Layers during the past two years and ten months.  An egg farm with an ownership base made up of over 100 investors, many of them my neighbors and friends, has given me a unique perspective into value added agriculture” Stacklin stated.  He continued, “It is my hope that the efforts we have put in place to expand our market share and to maintain the integrity of our production system will be beneficial to Dakota Layers and to its owners.”

“Of course, we are disappointed to see a young and talented individual like Pat leave our business.  He and Stacy and their family are a great asset to our community and they will be missed.  However, we fully appreciate when an opportunity to return to your home area surrounded by family presents itself; it simply is the right thing to do.  We wish Pat and his family the best always.” commented Dakota Layers’ President and CEO Scott Ramsdell.

Ramsdell indicated that the search for someone to fill the position of general manager has begun.

Dakota Layers, LLP, is a shell egg farm owned by over 100 investors, most of whom are area South Dakota farmers.  The company houses nearly 1 million laying hens.
