Dakota Layers Egg Donations Recognized by the VFW Post 628 and American Legion Post 15

Since December 2022, Dakota Layers, a family-owned and operated egg farm located in Flandreau, has collaborated with these organizations by donating approximately 105 dozen, or 1,260 eggs, each month.

Each month, the Sioux Falls VFW Post 628 and American Legion Post 15 host pancake feeds, with proceeds benefiting a variety of local initiatives. On average, these events serve between 1,100 and 1,300 people each month.

Since December 2022, Dakota Layers has collaborated with these organizations by donating approximately 105 dozen, or 1,260 eggs, each month. On May 28, 2025, the VFW Post 628 and American Legion Post 15 honored Dakota Layers with a plaque featuring a hand-carved golden egg as a token of thanks for their generous contributions over the years. This year also marks the centennial celebration of American Legion Baseball. The plaque will be displayed at Dakota Layers' headquarters, representing their ongoing dedication to making a positive impact, one egg at a time.
