Egg & Cheese Waffle Sandwich

You read that right. It's a crispy waffle sandwich filled with eggs and cheese. This is a popular choice for kids who want something sweet like a waffle but parents who want kids to be full all morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen round waffles (4-inch)
  • 1 Dakota Layers egg, beaten
  • 1 slice American or Colby-Jack Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F. Generously coat baking sheet with cooking spray. Place waffles on baking sheet.
  2. Spoon egg over waffles, spreading to fill cavities. Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes or until egg is set and waffles are crisp
  3. Top one waffle with cheese. Cover with remaining waffle and press together. Let stand for 1 minute to allow cheese to melt.
